Your budget
Evening Budget for Casino Nanaimo
A first evening at the casino is easier with a number and a leaving time decided before you arrive. The planner below turns your own amount and hours into a pace with breaks, and it keeps none of it.

Decide first
Settle it before you arrive
The simplest plan is made at home. Choose the amount you are prepared to spend and the time you will leave, then bring only that money with you. Treat it as the price of an evening out. If it is gone before the leaving time, the evening has been paid for.
We never suggest a figure, because the right number depends on you. The planner on this page works only with the amount and hours you type in. It runs inside your open browser tab, and nothing you enter is sent anywhere or kept. Only the light or dark theme is remembered, for that tab.
Only your own numbers · nothing is saved
The evening as a row of tickets
Divide the money you set aside by the hours you plan to stay; that is the most to spend in any one hour. Take a break away from the floor every hour. The doors close at 1 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday and at 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The planner never suggests an amount. Coffee is complimentary, and a GameSense Advisor is on site.
What a bet costs
What a single bet costs
More than 400 slot machines take multi-denomination bets, so a spin can cost as little as one cent. In the Action Arena, where electronic tables run the games on screens instead of with a dealer, play starts at $1 Roulette, $2 Blackjack and $5 Baccarat.
In the poker room the game is $1/$3 No Limit Texas Hold'em, in which a player can wager any amount of their chips. The buy-in, meaning the chips brought to the table, runs from a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $400. These figures are the price of one bet or a seat, not a budget for the night.
Breaks
Pauses away from the floor
A planned break is a good moment to check the clock against your leaving time. Coffee is complimentary on site. The Well Public House, the casino's pub, opens at 10 a.m. every day and serves pub food from breakfast to late at night. It closes at midnight from Sunday to Thursday and at 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
For a conversation about limits, the casino keeps a GameSense Info Centre on site. Every casino in BC has a GameSense Advisor available. Holiday hours for the pub are not published; call 250-753-3033.
When to stop
If the fun runs out
Gambling Support BC answers at 1-888-795-6111 around the clock, and the call is free. It is open to any BC resident, including someone worried about another person's gambling. The website is gamblingsupportbc.ca.
For a firmer line, there is Game Break, a voluntary self-exclusion program operated by BCLC. The term can be 3 years, 2 years, 1 year or 6 months, and once picked it stays fixed. Its reach includes BC casinos, bingo halls and community gaming centres, plus PlayNow.com. Sign-up is done either by visiting a gaming facility in person or by joining a BCLC employee in an online meeting.
